Bethany This Round... Mini-Jigs Again!

Made it to Bethany this evening.  Rained this morning briefly; not enough to restore the water level.  Still low but the fish were biting.  Things started out slow but managed to catch Bass, Bluegill, Sunfish, and even a Catfish!  Fun stuff!

Mini-Jigs Again This Morning!

Went to Bethany Lakes this morning with mini-jigs and an ultralight again.  Caught a couple of Bass and Sunfish/Bluegill.  Ended the outing with several Fingerling Bass. Been noticing surface activity yesterday and this morning; could not get them to take a lure until this round. Turned out to be the Fingerling Bass making all the splashing!

Mini-Jigs This Round at Bethany!

Been a little while since we fished Bethany Lakes.  Made it this evening luckily.  First thing that caught our eye was the low water level.  Can see Cypress knees and bare ground that was once underwater not too long ago.

Brought the Ultralight this round and started fishing Senkos. Had several bites but could quickly tell they were small ones.  Switched to a Pink Trout Magnet - a mini-jig that works well on small fish.

First fish was a little Bass caught in the Lower Pond, and then it was Sunfish in the Canal. Later, moved to the pier in the Horseshoe Pond and had a few light strikes before hooking into a Bluegill lurking deep.

Then, decided to cast parallel to the pier and work the lure slowly back to where we were positioned.  Managed to hook into a decent Bass that went 15" in size.

Fun stuff!
